whats the best way to remove acrylic nails without hurting myself or paying to remove them? How to remove acrylic nails?
Fill a bowl with acetone nail polish removal and soak your hands until the nails literally fall off.How to remove acrylic nails?
In a nail studio, they soak your nails in acetone to soak them off. They also use acetone to remove polish since it's a polish thinner.
I get acrylics done regularly, but I hardly ever pay to get them removed, even though most places charge about $10 to $15.
I also have no problem with pain, so I'll pop them off myself with a nail file. But if you're not as pain-intolerant and impatient as me, I suggest going to any store that sells paint and buying some acetone (it's not that expensive and smells just like nail polish remover). Put it in a bowl and soak your nails in it. Depending on how many times your acrylics have been filled in, it may take longer for the acetone to get through the layers and eat away at the glue holding the plastic nail in place and the first layer of acrylic compound. You'll notice that the acrylic will get softer and start to peel; eventually, it should soften up enough to where you can just run a metal file under the fake nail, across your nail beds, with little to no pain at all.
soak them in nail polish remover..if possible protect the skin, as it will inflame and dry it out. i know this because a manicurist did this on me..drove me nuts because it took so long, most of them usually take a new acrylic nail, and use the edge of it to lift the acrylic nails..if there good at it, it's fast and minimally invasive, if not...it can hurt like hell!
It's worth doing however, saves you about 10 bucks or more..i myself must do it, as i am addicted to acrylic nails, but it adds up, at $25. or more for a refill with tip!!
good luck, if anyone writes this suggetion AFTER me, they copied me!
Sally's Beauty Supply store has acrylic nail remover. Or you can use pure acetone to remove them. Youtube has videos on how to use the pure acetone to remove acrylic nails.
