Acrylic nails - nail underneath??

Okay, so I got acrylic nails a while back, had 1 fill so far, but my natural nail shows behind the tips if you get me, doesn't look very good! They are about half way up the acrylic now... When you go for a fill, can they get rid of it? Or do you just wait till it's all the way up the acrylic? Do you have to get another set?

I am a licensed nail technician. That requires a back fill. Not all discount salons do them because they require too much time and skill. A backfill is when the the old white area and where the new white should be are filed thinly with a drill or file and then the nail technician will sculpt the new white tip so it doesn't look grown out. Then they will fill your nail bed area. Your nails should look like when you first got them done...pretty and fresh!





Never rip them off!!!!! That will damage your natural nails, leaving them very thin! Have them soak off if they can't do a back fill. A soak off does take about an hour so be prepared to be there for a while. Or you can find another nail person that does back fills.

You can have them file the acrylic down to your natural nail. I always just waited a month or so until mine reached the end.





* ACRYLIC HINT* Make sure that you still keep the skin underneath your nail off the end your nails just like you would if you didn't have acryilics. If you don't if you break a nail, or the time comes that you want the nails removed you'll be pulling on the skin and your finger tips will be sore, and possibly bleed.
that happened to me when i got acrylics! it was just a little curved line across them where my nail was..it was really visible for me and it was sort of yellowish coloured!


but the reason for mine was they were just badly done! i even ripped them off..and i dont think you should be able to do that! hah


you could try painting them a bright colour until the naill underneath grows enough for it not to show?

If you ask the nail tech they can take the nail off using the same thing they use to shape the acrylic. That spinny thing if you get me. Make sure you ask though because they don't do it all the time.
Yeah if it doesnt look very good just tell the nail tech that you want another set! But your nails always tend to out grow the acrylic and usually they just trim them down underneath so its even with the fake nail!hope that helped :)
um... im not sure if i understand exactly what your trying to say but i just got acryllic nails 2!
