Getting acrylic nails?

I want to get some acrylic nails this summer. I need to know everything about them. Have you ever had them? What do they do when you get there, and how much do they USUALLY cost? What are the pros and cons about them?

Anything would be great!

thanks so much.Getting acrylic nails?
They normally cost around thirty-five dollars. When you get there they will clean and cut your nails. A file will be run across your nail bed to make the surface rough (so the gel sticks). A white tip is glued to your nail then gel is applied. The gel is usually a mixture of powder and liquid.

pros- makes your nails look absolutely great and fills don't cost very much.

cons- can rip your nail if not taken off professionally.Getting acrylic nails?
what an utter load misinformation from a few other people who have answered.

First off ring a nail company like CND, or Ezflow ask them to recommend someone in your area, preferably a master. Give them a call or pop in to the salon, check that you can see their certificates, also watch to make sure that they sanitise their tools etc. Please dont go to someone who is cheap and can get you in and out in 30 mins. A tech who does their job properly will usually take about an hour to do a full set. Also if you decided to take your nails off please go back to the salon and have them removed professionally, its for the betterment of your natural nail. Oh and on a side note there is no difference between gel and acrylic nails, they are made of the same products but produced in a different form. It's people who rip/pick/bite their nails off that are doing the damage not the acrylic/gel.
I get my nails done very often and the part of acrylic nails is that they will put nails on for you only if your actual nails are weak but if they are good then they will ony extend them without putting acrylic on. My nails stay on for 2 to 3 weeks without any problems. They take up to 30 minutes to do. I ususally get a french done. They look very pretty and natural. They hurt for the first 2 hours until you get used to it and can cost anywhere from $25-75.Varies from salon to salon and amount of tip. YOu can do different things with them like airbrush designs, jewels on your nails. It is a lot of fun. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:)))
if you really want them then get them but i woudnt recommend them, they look good at first but after like a week or two they look crap, and nasty, and then you have to keep paying to get them redone, and if they brake off they really hurt and they damage your real nails, sorry to make them sound bad but i dont wanna lie to you!!!
Here they cost $35

If you leave them on too long your nails will get a bit yellow because they haven't seen the sun, but some salons have UV nails, which allows sun to go threw the nail.

When you get there they file your nails and after that it depends if it's gel or pre-made.
Do Not get acrylics!!!!

Go with gels they dont ruin your nails as much, because acrylics mkae them extremly weak!

Acrylics cost anywhere from 25-35

Gels cost about 45-55

I pay around 50 including tip for my gels!
the pros are that they look really cool, the cons are that they make you nail yellow and weak

if i were you i wouldnt do it
