Im looking into becoming a dental assistant but im wondering if i would be able to keep my nails they are kinda long but not like really really long. Can a dental assistant have acrylic nails.?
Most offices won't allow it... Your nails would really be in the way and chances are would get broken very easily, but mainly the reason you can't have them is that acrylic nails are a source of bacteria and even with gloves on its a health hazard especially if your gloves where to tear.
Can a dental assistant have acrylic nails.?
It will be upto the owner of the clinic and their policies. Having long nails can be bad, bc it can rupture the gloves when your working and not every one is honest when they fill out their medical history, so some may have aids, clamydhia, hepatitis, etc etc etc. So from a preventive point of view trims nails are better, they will be more hygenic, and safer for you.
Idk..The place i go to almost all of them have the nails..
but then again the place i go to is really ghetto..ha.
