Getting Acrylic Nails?

I have never had acrylic nails. How long do they last? Is it going to be different moving type and typing?Getting Acrylic Nails?
If they are good ones, they can last as long as you want as long as you keep filling the cuticles in.

I have had them on for over 6 months before, just filling them down and going back to get them filled in which usually costs around 拢10. I usually go and get this done every 2-3 weeks. They are hard wearing, and the person putting them on for you should tell you when to take them off.

Your real nails underneath will grow as well, but will be weakened considerably for a while after you take the acrylics off.

You get used to them really quickly, and as they are hard wearing and probably stronger than your real nails, you can perform all normal daily tasks. Typing takes a bit of getting used to - and not hitting about 3 letter all at once is the trick!

I am at Uni and type all the time and never have a problem. think you adapt and probably tilt your hand up more??

If you choose to paint them, you will need an acetone free nail polish remover as real nail polish remover will melt them.

Most places charge to take them off, I have never done this, but be warned, it really hurts to pull them off, using nail polish remover to melt them a lot of the way helps though.Getting Acrylic Nails?
I have always wanted to get acrylic nails as well but my mom never let me because she said that they damaged her nails almost to the point of no return

:O

If you want your nails to look longer and more girly a friend of mine recommended to me, using the fake nails you can apply yourself that you can get at Rite Aid or Walmart etc. The glue for these is much more gentil and should not damage your nail beds or cuticles.

Keeping your nail polish off your cuticles and keeping your cuticles moisturized and cut back should also make your nails longer or at least appear longer.

Don't forget - filing your nails is really helpful too! Nobody likes cracked splitting nails =P

Good luck !
I used to love putting them on i would always go back for a refill because they look so nice and feminine, and it matches my fingers alot...

it does feel weird when i type but trust me you'll get used to it, but once their off your going to say wow i can type freely lol

they last for like 3 weeks if you keep it clean and not hit your hands anywhere it'll last longer

have fun with them lol
I got a French Manicure on Boxing Day (same thing as acrylics except I got the white tip). I got a refill a couple of weeks ago and they're growing out again. *sigh* It will be a bit strange to start off with but you get used to it quickly. It's harder to pick up tiny things like hairs and doing up buttons can be a bit tricky. Don't get them too long otherwise it's just way too impractical.
They last about 2 weeks if you don't get them filled. If you get them too long then it will be hard to type.
